Notes from Rebecca Hein

You may print this in your book, but let me know before you do so that if I see mistakes in the meantime, I can contact you. In the census records I find two John Welch names at the same time close to each other in Alabama and in my records is stated that there were also two Thomas Jefferson Welches. I believe my records show that John F. Cardwell married 2 times, lst wife Frances (Fannie) C. and 2nd, Cora. He lived between Wadley and Roanoke, Ala. in a small community called Concord where he had a country store. John F. Cardwell is said to have donated the land for the Concord Primitive Baptist Church and Cemetery where he is buried. His first wife Frances C. is buried in Wadley, Ala. The last address for Cora Cardwell was Tifton, Ga. and she was living with her son Oris. Here are those buried with John F. Cardwell:
