Mary "Polly" Cardwell - she married John Claypole. The couple migrate to Indiana according to the records of P.G. Fulkerson. John Claypole was born on May 30, 1786 in Virginia. He was the son of David Claypole and Ann Dunbar. John Cardwell, Mary's father, sold land to John Claypole in 1821 in Claiborne County, TN. It appears that during the 1820s that the couple migrated to Hendricks County, Indiana. John Claypole died there around 1845. The following is for research purposes only! She was the daughter of Larkin Howard and Rachel Herndon of Caswell County, NC. Nancy died in about 1844. It appears that Nancy dies by Sept. 23, 1847 when Rueben remarries Catherine Davis in Boone County, Indiana. Reuben Claypole (Claypool) died in Mar. 1891 in Waynestown, Indiana. He is listed in the 1880 census of Montgomery County, Illinois in the home of his son, Joseph S. Claypool, with his wife Catherine Davis Claypole. She was born about 1824 in Ohio. Reuben Claypool and Catherine Davis had the following children:

B. Willis N. Mark - born about 1846 in Hendricks County, Indiana. He is listed in the home of his parents in the 1850 Hendricks County, Indiana census. He is listed in the 1880 census of Putnam County, Indiana. His father, William Mark, is living with the family. Willis is married to Mattie E. (Last Name Unknown). Living with is Elizabeth Claypole (born in 1790 in Virginia) his apparent mother and a young boy named James H. Claypole (born in 1839). According to Fulkerson's notes, Mary "Polly" Cardwell married John Claypole. With Elizabeth Claypole living in the home of her son in the 1850 census it questions the accuracy of Fulkerson's record or that Mary had died and John Claypole remarried to an Elizabeth. More research is needed. James Claypole is listed in the 1880 census of Clinton County, Indiana with his wife, Elizabeth (Last Name Unknown) born about 1842 in Indiana. Their children are based on that record.
